Christmas Shop at Oxmarket
Oxmarket Contemporary is launching its Christmas shop on Tuesday October 29th with a range of beautifully crafted decorations and gifts by local designers.
As Jo Shapiro, Gallery Manager explains: “ `In addition to Christmas cards, advent calendars and crackers, we’re stocking carefully chosen pieces that will make great gifts at affordable prices. Some of our artists and makers include local artist Gemma Bedford’s beautiful digitally printed scarves of her landscape paintings, jewellers Gael Emmett, Sheryl Hill and Moira Cooper. We will have ceramics by Jane Eastell, Lynn Nicholls, StJohn Trundle, Neil Dewey including beautiful handmade ceramic tree decorations. Kate Brigden’s hand painted ceramics and Rose Etherdon’s porcelain mugs featuring local place names and sailing terms are the ideal Christmas gift. Niall Clutton has produced some stunning pieces in wood which are tactile as well as being beautiful to look at and Oliver Milne has made beautiful bird houses and cheese boards. We also have a selection of affordable limited edition prints and original work from artists such as Alyson Lomas, Allan Davies, Bea Veness and David Peduzzi to name a few. We think that many people want to give gifts that are unique and special, so we’ve chosen original pieces of art and craft that are affordable and there’s something to suit everyone’s budget. We’ve also got a range of books and stationery that make great stocking fillers. Our shop features a Christmas Tree festooned with hand made decorations from ceramicists Lynn Nicholls, felt decorations by Chrissie Matson and gorgeous Dollypegs by Rosie Morgan’. Samantha English Metalwork will be showing her beautifully crafted silver and brass mistletoe, a stunning addition for Christmas.
