Oxmarket Contemporary is a charity and we are supported by many volunteers.
New volunteers are always welcome.
If you’d like to give a little of your time to support the arts, then we would love to hear from you.
Trustees
Oxmarket Contemporary is a charity with a Board of Trustees who have overall responsibility for everything the charity does. We are a small charity with two part time staff and a team of extraordinary volunteers who help us in a variety of ways. Like many charities, Covid threw us a curved ball and we are going through a period of change as we review how we will operate in future.
We are looking for new Trustees to strengthen the current Board of four and to bring new skills and diversity to the charity. We would particularly welcome new Trustee Board members who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into some of the great initiatives we currently have planned.

Volunteers
Oxmarket volunteers are proactive members of our front of house team, who enhance visitors’ experience at the Gallery.
As well as providing a fantastic, friendly customer service, volunteers may also assist with additional marketing and administrative tasks, stewarding and help with exhibition installs and take-down.
Exhibitions change every two to four weeks which offers an ever-changing working scene. We are looking for volunteers to help with Front of House duties which include meeting and welcoming visitors, dealing with art sales, using our Point of sale system and handling cash. Full training will be given.
Oxmarket Contemporary is open six days a week and if you can offer a morning or afternoon on a reasonably regular basis we would love to hear from you. Some of our volunteers come in the same time each week, but others help out whenever they can.
Our volunteers are vital in enhancing awareness of the Oxmarket Contemporary, and are fundamental to our success and sustainability.
We’re also looking for a volunteer with an interest in gardening to help keep the Oxmarket’s external space tidy and weed-free and ideally blooming!
