Oxmarket Contemporary is excited to be exhibiting Louise Burston’s paintings. Louise tries to establish a certain kind of mood, transporting the viewer to a place of empty silence and reflection, and in the case of her collected postcards, somewhere that runs counter to the perceived ‘celebratory’ nature of the original subject. Louise hopes that her work will enable the viewer to reflect on the passing of time and where we find ourselves in the present – the fragility and finiteness of everything.
